BROADVIEW, Ill. (WLS) — The west suburban village of Broadview is taking action to prevent Immigration and Customs Enforcement from expanding its facility there.<\/p>\n

The Broadview Village Board voted to restrict where ICE facilities can be, banning them from being within 1,000 feet of residential areas, schools, day cares and more.<\/p>\n

The Broadview ICE facility has often been at the center of tense protests during the Department of Homeland Security’s Chicago-area immigration enforcement operation “Midway Blitz.”<\/p>\n
