A water main break in Aubrey has led to a citywide boil water notice, affecting numerous residents.<\/p>\n
AUBREY, Texas \u2014 A water main break near Spring Street and Hill Street has caused widespread water issues in Aubrey and prompted a boil water notice for the entire city.<\/p>\n
City officials say crews shut off water service Monday to repair an older water main, and the fix was completed by shortly after 8 p.m. Jan. 5, according to an update posted on the city’s Facebook page.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Because of the break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Aubrey to issue a boil water notice at 7:55 p.m. Monday. The notice applies to all City of Aubrey water customers but does not affect Mustang Special Utility District customers.<\/p>\n
Residents are being asked to boil water before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or making ice. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for two minutes, then cooled before use. Bottled water or another safe source can also be used, especially for children, seniors and people with weakened immune systems.<\/p>\n
