{"id":496718,"date":"2026-01-06T15:00:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T15:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/496718\/"},"modified":"2026-01-06T15:00:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T15:00:10","slug":"water-main-break-in-aubrey-prompts-boil-water-notice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/496718\/","title":{"rendered":"Water main break in Aubrey prompts boil water notice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A water main break in Aubrey has led to a citywide boil water notice, affecting numerous residents.<\/p>\n<p>AUBREY, Texas \u2014 A water main break near Spring Street and Hill Street has caused widespread water issues in Aubrey and prompted a boil water notice for the entire city.<\/p>\n<p>City officials say crews shut off water service Monday to repair an older water main, and the fix was completed by shortly after 8 p.m. Jan. 5, according to an update posted on the city&#8217;s Facebook page.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Because of the break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Aubrey to issue a boil water notice at 7:55 p.m. Monday. The notice applies to all City of Aubrey water customers but does not affect Mustang Special Utility District customers.<\/p>\n<p>Residents are being asked to boil water before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or making ice. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for two minutes, then cooled before use. Bottled water or another safe source can also be used, especially for children, seniors and people with weakened immune systems.<\/p>\n<p>City officials encourage residents to draw water for essential needs and to stay up to date by checking the city\u2019s website and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/aubreytx\/posts\/pfbid029DdbGm8nbY3FRVkNzDit3dNwvhzkp6j5pc73oJmJqDg5ZzxC89yUJix997cSPigsl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social media pages<\/a>.
