{"id":497816,"date":"2026-01-07T01:47:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T01:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/497816\/"},"modified":"2026-01-07T01:47:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T01:47:09","slug":"10m-lawsuit-filed-against-houston-business-owner-accused-of-making-deepfake-sexual-content-of-influencer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/497816\/","title":{"rendered":"$10M lawsuit filed against Houston business owner accused of making deepfake sexual content of influencer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>HOUSTON<\/strong> \u2013 A Houston business owner, already facing criminal charges after being accused of impersonating a Houston internet influencer and creating fake nude images of her, is now facing a multi-million-dollar lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The Buzbee Law Firm filed a lawsuit against Jorge Abrego, the co-owner of HTX Tactical, on behalf of the influencer, who is unnamed. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cUnfortunately, it\u2019s becoming far too common to see deepfakes on the internet. This conduct is harmful and defamatory. I am proud to be leading an effort to push back on this type of conduct. Through this case, we intend to set an example of this perpetrator to deter this type of conduct in the future,\u201d said Attorney Tony Buzbee<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The lawsuit seeks more than $10 million in damages.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cDefendant Jorge Abrego is a dark and disturbed individual. He used manipulation, deception and lies in an attempt to gain Plaintiff Jane Doe\u2019s trust, all the while, unbeknownst to her, Abrego was creating for her a living nightmare,\u201d the lawsuit alleges.<\/p>\n<p><b>What happened?<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Abrego was arrested in Aug. 2025 and charged with online impersonation and unlawful production of sexually explicit videos.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Abrego allegedly created fake TikTok accounts impersonating the influencer with more than 300,000 Instagram followers and more than 90,000 TikTok followers, using similar usernames with slight variations, according to records.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The victim told HCSO that Abrego had expressed an interest in dating her and was \u201cin love with her,\u201d according to records.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">He admitted to investigators that he also created fake nude images of her, according to investigators, who found more than 50 nude images and videos on his cell phone, records show. It\u2019s believed they were made with artificial intelligence and show the victim appearing to be engaged in sexual conduct.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The victim told deputies that she was scared for her life, had suffered financial loss, and that the false and potentially defamatory content under her likeness cause injury to her personal and professional reputation, according to records.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">In one instance, AI-created videos showed a girl wearing green lingerie and bent over a table with her face photoshopped on. Another TikTok video showed the victim topless with flowers over her nipples, according to court records.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The victim told deputies that she has never posted nude images on the internet, records show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Investigators executed several grand jury subpoenas to track down the account user information for the fake accounts, cell phone and email subscriber information, as well as IP address details, in order to trace the fake accounts back to Abrego, records show. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The phone number used to create a fake account is the number registered to Abrego, investigators found. The IP address was also registered to HTX Tactical, records also showed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">After Abrego\u2019s arrest, HTX Tactical co-owner Javier Garcia released a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cWe want to emphasize that these are allegations and Mr. Abrego is presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law. While this situation does not reflect the company\u2019s values or its day-to-day operations, we take these allegations very seriously,\u201d a portion of the statement read.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cHTX Tactical is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and compliance, and we are carefully reviewing internal processes to ensure that our business remains focused on serving the needs of our customers and community,\u201d the statement continued.<\/p>\n<p><b>Lawsuit details<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The lawsuit makes mention of many of the same allegations that were made when Abrego was first arrested, however, the lawsuit adds that Abrego pretended to be the victim\u2019s friend and someone she could trust while this was going on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The lawsuit also alleges that Abrego\u2019s campaign of harassment was because of the repeated rejection by the influencer of his romantic advances towards her.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cWhile Plaintiff voiced her fear for her safety and concerns as to what was going on, Abrego pretended to be a trusted friend who could be confided in. As Plaintiff dealt with the onslaught she was experiencing online, Defendant Abrego pretended to be her source of emotional support, despite orchestrating the very events that were causing her torture,\u201d the lawsuit alleges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The victim is seeking more than $1 million and total punitive damages that will exceed $10 million.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">HTX Tactical is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The lawsuit seeks a trial by jury.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Abrego is currently out of jail on a $10,000 bond.
