Two people were rushed to the hospital by officers on Tuesday afternoon after two men got into an argument inside a beer distributor before gunshots rang out in West Philadelphia, according to police. <\/p>\n
This all unfolded sometime after 6 p.m. on Jan. 6 when a 35-year-old man was caught on camera entering the beer distributor at 43rd and Market streets and getting into an argument with another person, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said. <\/p>\n
At some point, the 35-year-old can be seen on surveillance cameras walking out of the store followed by another a man who appears to fire several shots, Small explained. The 35-year-old was hit at least one time in his chest.<\/p>\n
While the bullets rang out, a 65-year-old woman was standing nearby on the sidewalk and she was shot in the shoulder, Small said. <\/p>\n
The shooter than began to chase the 35-year-old man westbound down Market Street before heading southbound on 43rd Street, according to Small. <\/p>\n
When police arrived to the scene, they found the 35-year-old man and the 65-year-old woman and were able to rush to them to a nearby hospital, Small reported. <\/p>\n
The 35-year-old man is in critical condition and was taken into surgery while the woman was listed in stable condition, Small said. <\/p>\n
Detectives at the scene found 13 spent shell casings from a semi-automatic weapon along with two wallets on the sidewalk, Small said. <\/p>\n
“We don\u2019t have a motive. We just believe it might have been some altercation over some sort of argument,” Small told NBC10. <\/p>\n
Small explained that the alleged shooter was last seen running away southbound on 43rd Street wearing a red shirt with a tan jacket along with dark colored jeans. <\/p>\n
