Police Say Suspect Fled Toward a Transit Station After Demanding Cash<\/strong><\/p>\n

Culver City police arrested a juvenile suspect following a robbery near a retail store along Sepulveda Boulevard after officers tracked the suspect onto a public bus and into Los Angeles, according to the CCPD press release.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The robbery occurred about 3:30 p.m. Jan. 3 in the 6000 block of Sepulveda Boulevard. Police said the suspect approached a victim near the entrance of a store, demanded money, and displayed what appeared to be a handgun. The victim was not injured and handed over approximately $100 in cash to the suspect.<\/p>\n

After the suspect fled the scene on foot toward a nearby bus transfer station, officers reviewed surveillance video and identified images of the suspect. Investigators determined the suspect boarded a bus that had already departed the area.<\/p>\n

Culver City officers coordinated with local bus operators and learned the vehicle was traveling eastbound. Officers later located the bus in Los Angeles and spotted the suspect running into a nearby commercial complex.<\/p>\n

With assistance from security personnel at the location, police detained the suspect without incident. Officers also recovered clothing believed to have been discarded during the flight.<\/p>\n

The suspect, identified as a male juvenile, was taken into custody and transported to a juvenile detention facility, where he was booked on robbery charges.<\/p>\n
