The Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board\u2019s money saving decision to close Pima Elementary and Echo Canyon K-8 School during it\u2019s Dec. 9 meeting wasn\u2019t the end of the matter \u2014 it was just the beginning .<\/p>\n

The district still needs to close another two schools by the 2028-29 school year to make ends meet, Superintendent Dr. Scott Menzel told the board during its Jan. 6 meeting.<\/p>\n

Dr. Menzel wants the board to decide which schools will be closed in October.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Dr. Menzel has already met with families of students enrolled in Copper Ridge K-8 School and Cheyenne Traditional School about the possibility of closing those schools.<\/p>\n
