Troopers said they responded around 7:41 a.m. on New Year\u2019s Day to a report of an animal left in a vehicle without a heat source in the town of Queensbury.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"FR7I3XRUBRGDPJVGSXFWTTZI4E\">An investigation determined that Harvey left the dog inside the vehicle while temperatures dropped well below freezing on New Year\u2019s Eve, police said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"SBW4E5CZAZBLVHYC2N6LZ2JCSE\">The dog was uninjured and released back to Harvey.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"6KZM3LYNGNFZZNC7UKNGLFPQSA\">Harvey was charged with an agriculture &amp; markets law violation under 352-D, Confinement of companion animals in vehicles: extreme temperatures. She was issued a ticket to appear in Queensbury Town Court on Jan. 12 and released.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"CU65FMRG25CJVIAQLMLQBLJLWI\">According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akc.org\/expert-advice\/health\/leaving-a-dog-in-the-car-in-winter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.akc.org\/expert-advice\/health\/leaving-a-dog-in-the-car-in-winter\/\">American Kennel Club<\/a>, pets should never be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.syracuse.com\/state\/2022\/07\/is-it-legal-to-break-a-window-to-save-a-dog-in-a-hot-car-heres-what-ny-law-says.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.syracuse.com\/state\/2022\/07\/is-it-legal-to-break-a-window-to-save-a-dog-in-a-hot-car-heres-what-ny-law-says.html\">left alone in a car on a hot summer day<\/a> or in extreme cold conditions during the winter.
