SAN ANTONIO \u2014 If chocolates and roses aren\u2019t your thing this Valentine\u2019s Day, the San Antonio Zoo has a delightfully petty alternative that involves naming a cockroach after your ex, and feeding it to an animal.<\/p>\n
The zoo\u2019s wildly popular Cry Me a Cockroach Fundraiser is back and bigger than ever, giving adults 18 and older the chance to symbolically name a cockroach, rodent, or even a veggie after an ex, before it\u2019s served up as a snack for one of the zoo\u2019s animals on Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n
For a $10 donation, you can name a cockroach. A $25 donation gets you a rodent, and veggies are also available for $5. The fundraiser is all in good fun, but the money raised supports wildlife conservation efforts at the zoo.<\/p>\n
Donors will also receive a downloadable Valentine\u2019s Day card and a special Valentine\u2019s Day video featuring one of the zoo\u2019s popular residents. Fans can watch the feedings happen live on Valentine\u2019s Day by following the zoo on social media @SanAntonioZoo.<\/p>\n
