FedEx is laying off 89 employees at a location in far north Fort Worth, according to a state filing<\/a> on Dec. 29.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN notice, filed with the Texas Workforce Commission, the Memphis-based business shipping and services company said the workers will be laid off beginning March 2 at its location at 2001 World Wide Drive. The notice says the layoff decision is related to Network 2.0, which is a FedEx reorganization initiative that began in 2022 to improve efficiency and profits.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the WARN letter, the impacted employees can request transfers to other FedEx locations, take severance or take leave while seeking other roles in the company.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In May 2025, FedEx laid off about 300 employees<\/a> at another location in north Fort Worth. According to the WARN notice for that furlough, those changes were made when a customer moved its business to another third-party logistics provider, an outsourced partner that manages some or all of a company\u2019s supply chain and distribution needs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
