{"id":499846,"date":"2026-01-07T21:52:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T21:52:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/499846\/"},"modified":"2026-01-07T21:52:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T21:52:10","slug":"fedex-laying-off-89-employees-in-north-fort-worth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/499846\/","title":{"rendered":"FedEx laying off 89 employees in north Fort Worth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"&quot;byline&quot;\">by Bob Francis, Fort Worth Report <br \/>January 7, 2026<\/p>\n<p>FedEx is laying off 89 employees at a location in far north Fort Worth, according to a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.twc.texas.gov\/data-reports\/warn-notice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> state filing<\/a> on Dec. 29.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN notice, filed with the Texas Workforce Commission, the Memphis-based business shipping and services company said the workers will be laid off beginning March 2 at its location at 2001 World Wide Drive. The notice says the layoff decision is related to Network 2.0, which is a FedEx reorganization initiative that began in 2022 to improve efficiency and profits.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the WARN letter, the impacted employees can request transfers to other FedEx locations, take severance or take leave while seeking other roles in the company.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In May 2025, FedEx l<a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2025\/05\/29\/fedex-to-lay-off-over-300-employees-at-fort-worth-location\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">aid off about 300 employees<\/a> at another location in north Fort Worth. According to the WARN notice for that furlough, those changes were made when a customer moved its business to another third-party logistics provider, an outsourced partner that manages some or all of a company\u2019s supply chain and distribution needs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bob Francis is business editor for the Fort Worth Report.
