{"id":500378,"date":"2026-01-08T03:04:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T03:04:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/500378\/"},"modified":"2026-01-08T03:04:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-08T03:04:11","slug":"woman-6-year-old-girl-injured-in-suspected-dwi-crash-with-2-other-vehicles-on-west-side-sapd-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/500378\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman, 6-year-old girl injured in suspected DWI crash with 2 other vehicles on West Side, SAPD says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>SAN ANTONIO <\/strong> \u2013 San Antonio police said one of the drivers injured in a three-vehicle crash may have been drinking while she was behind the wheel with a child in the backseat. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Officers were dispatched to a crash just before 4 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Culebra Road and Arcadia Creek. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">After they arrived, investigators said the first vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed on Culebra Road northbound when it struck a second vehicle traveling in the same direction. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">According to police, the second vehicle then veered into oncoming traffic where it crashed into a third vehicle. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">San Antonio fire officials said three people were taken to the hospital for further treatment: <\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>A 27-year-old woman and a 6-year-old girl in the first vehicle, who were both not wearing a seat belt<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>The driver in the third vehicle <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The 6-year-old suffered \u201cserious injuries but thus far (are) not life-threatening,\u201d an SAPD sergeant at the scene told KSAT. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The woman and the driver of the third vehicle also sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the second vehicle \u201cdidn\u2019t appear injured,\u201d SAPD said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Upon further investigation, authorities said the woman and child were not wearing seat belts at the time of crash.
