I just really want to be able to do something,\u201d Park Slope resident Pam Sass said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not going to stand down and let this happen to our communities,\u201d South Bronx resident Julie Norris said.<\/p>\n<p><b>What You Need To Know<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The shooting death of a woman in Minneapolis by an ICE agent sparked outage across the country, including New York City<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Hundreds gathered Wednesday night at Foley Square in Lower Manhattan calling for accountability<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Protesters say the video raises serious questions about the use of force and deescalation during enforcement actions<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Federal officials say the investigation into the shooting is ongoing, while protesters here say they&#8217;ll keep pushing for answers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Hundreds gathered Wednesday night at Foley Square in Lower Manhattan, calling for accountability after the woman was killed during what federal officials described as an immigration crackdown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur officer followed his training. Did exactly what he was trained to do in this type of situation. And took actions to defend himself,\u201d Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said.<\/p>\n<p>But Minneapolis officials dispute that claim.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly that is bull****,\u201d Minneapolis Mayor Kevin Frey said.<\/p>\n<p>Protesters in New York City say the video raises serious questions about the use of force and deescalation during enforcement actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe demand that these ICE agents are prosecuted. And that they can\u2019t get away with this with impunity,\u201d Queens resident Carolyn Yao said.<\/p>\n<p>Advocates say scenes like this mirror confrontations they\u2019ve witnessed in New York, where protesters sometimes attempt to block ICE vehicles and tensions escalate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been calling for accountability for ICE, but accountability has come and gone. They must be abolished moving forward,\u201d New York Immigration Coalition CEO and President Murad Awawdeh said.<\/p>\n<p>Federal officials say the investigation into the shooting is ongoing, while protesters say they\u2019ll keep pushing for answers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re the accountability.
