That trend continued through the rest of the bowl games.<\/p>\n<p>Across the 33 non-CFP bowl games that aired on ESPN networks, viewership increased by 13% year-over-year, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ESPNPR\/status\/2008999603384013198?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the network announced<\/a>. The <strong>Citrus Bowl<\/strong> between <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/michigan-wolverines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Michigan<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/texas-longhorns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Texas<\/a><\/strong> led the charge, just surpassing the <strong>Pop-Tarts Bowl<\/strong> for the top spot.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/nil\/newsletter\/signup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SUBSCRIBE to the On3 NIL and Sports Business Newsletter<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All told, 11 bowl games hit at least a five-year high this season, ESPN said. Here are the most-watched non-College Football Playoff bowl games for 2025, based on Nielsen Big Data + Panel data.<\/p>\n<p>Citrus Bowl: Michigan vs. Texas<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date\/Time: Dec. 31, 3 p.m. ET<\/strong><br \/><strong>Channel: ABC<\/strong><br \/><strong>Viewers: 9.1 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/texas-longhorns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Texas<\/a><\/strong> coach <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/coach\/steve-sarkisian-132832\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Steve Sarkisian<\/a><\/strong> predicted the <strong>Citrus Bowl<\/strong> would draw strong TV ratings, and it did just that to lead non-College Football Playoff bowl game viewership. The Fighting Illini secured another nine-win season under <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/coach\/bret-bielema-132499\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bret Bielema<\/a><\/strong> as they took down the Volunteers, 30-28, on a last-second field goal from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/david-olano-153042\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">David Olano<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Alamo Bowl: USC vs. TCU<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date\/Time: Dec. 30, 9 p.m. ET<\/strong><br \/><strong>Channel: ESPN<\/strong><br \/><strong>Viewers: 4.9 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Alamo Bowl<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/tcu-horned-frogs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TCU<\/a><\/strong> mounted a comeback late in regulation and eventually forced overtime against <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/usc-trojans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">USC<\/a><\/strong>. The Trojans scored first in the extra period with a field goal, but the Horned Frogs got the victory as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/jeremy-payne-60531\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jeremy Payne<\/a><\/strong> broke free for a wild game-winning touchdown on 3rd and long.<\/p>\n<p>ReliaQuest Bowl: Iowa vs. Vanderbilt<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date\/Time: Dec. 31, Noon ET<\/strong><br \/><strong>Channel: ESPN<\/strong><br \/><strong>Viewers: 4.6 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Points were hard to come by in the first half of the <strong>ReliaQuest Bow<\/strong>l, but <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/iowa-hawkeyes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Iowa<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/sites\/the-dore-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vanderbilt<\/a><\/strong> traded blows in the final two quarters. Fleck<\/a><\/strong>, taking down\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/new-mexico-lobos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New Mexico<\/a><\/strong>. Bowl: Boise State vs. Washington<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date\/Time: Dec. 13, 8 p.m. ET<\/strong><br \/><strong>Channel: ABC<\/strong><br \/><strong>Viewers: 3.8 million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>L.A. Bowl<\/strong>\u00a0went out on a high note with a new record-high of 3.8 million viewers tuning in for\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/washington-huskies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Washington\u2019s<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0win against\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/boise-state-broncos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Boise State<\/a><\/strong>. It marks the final installment of the game, as On3\u2019s\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/user\/brett-mcmurphy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Brett href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/sites\/the-mid-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Navy<\/a><\/strong> completed an 11-win season with a resounding win over <strong><a non-College Football Playoff bowl games are in the books, the CFP semifinals and national championship are still on the horizon.
