Written by Slater and Marshall Pailet, the Classic Stage Company production sees the Wicked film star taking on world famous mime Marcel Marceau.<\/p>\n

Additional casting is set for\u00a0Classic Stage Company<\/a>‘s upcoming world premiere of Ethan Slater<\/a> and Marshall Pailet<\/a>‘s Marcel on the Train<\/a>,
\n set to play the Off-Broadway company February 5-March 14.\u00a0Pailet also directs the production, which will officially open February 22.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As previously announced<\/a>, Slater (SpongeBob SquarePants, Wicked films)\u00a0will lead
\nthe cast as world famous mime Marcel Marceau<\/a> with\u00a0Maddie Corman<\/a> (Accidentally Brave), Max Gordon Moore<\/a> (Tammy Faye), Aaron Serotsky<\/a> (August: Osage County), and Alex Wyse<\/a> (Good Night, Oscar).<\/p>\n

Newly announced for the production is\u00a0Tedra Millan<\/a> (Leopoldstadt) as Berthe\u00a0plus\u00a0understudies Harrison Bryan<\/a> (A Patron of the Arts), Rora Brodwin (A Modest Proposal), and Josh Odsess-Rubin (Miracle on 55th Street).\u00a0Julie Benko<\/a>, who was previously announced for the production, is no longer able to be part of the company; Benko has just joined the Broadway company of Ragtime<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Slater will not appear in Marcel on the Train February 24\u201325 and March 1. The role of Marcel will be understudied by Bryan.<\/p>\n

The work follows Marceau in the years before his worldwide fame,
\nduring his time in World War II-era French resistance saving Jewish
\nchildren from the Nazis. The play received a developmental workshop at
\nWilliamstown Theatre Festival in 2024.<\/p>\n

The production will feature set design by Scott Davis<\/a>, costume design
\n by Sarah Laux<\/a>, lighting design by Studio Luna, and sound
\ndesign by Jill BC DuBoff.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Marcel on the Train is presented by special arrangement with Mix and Match Productions’ Maxwell Beer<\/a> and Mitch Marois<\/a>.<\/p>\n
