If the ones within this <a href=\"https:\/\/robbreport.com\/tag\/upper-east-side\/\" id=\"auto-tag_upper-east-side\" data-tag=\"upper-east-side\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Upper East Side<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/robbreport.com\/tag\/townhouse\/\" id=\"auto-tag_townhouse\" data-tag=\"townhouse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">townhouse<\/a> long owned by the late <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2006\/11\/26\/nyregion\/phyllis-cerf-wagner-90-socialite-and-collaborator-with-dr-seuss.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Phyllis Cerf Wagner<\/a> could indeed speak, they most assuredly would have their share of fascinating tales to spin. Think stories of all the famous guests\u00a0from Judy Garland to Frank Sinatra who visited the historic premises at some point during a 60-plus-year tenure that saw the <a href=\"https:\/\/robbreport.com\/tag\/manhattan\/\" id=\"auto-tag_manhattan\" data-tag=\"manhattan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manhattan<\/a> socialite, onetime movie actress, and collaborator with Dr. Seuss on a series of landmark <a href=\"https:\/\/www.penguinrandomhouse.com\/series\/BBK\/beginner-books\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">children\u2019s books<\/a> outlive not just one but two prominent spouses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tRecords show Wagner purchased the Italianate-style property in 1941 with her first husband Bennett Cerf, co-founder of the Random House publishing company. After he died in 1971, she went on to wed former <a href=\"https:\/\/robbreport.com\/tag\/new-york-city\/\" id=\"auto-tag_new-york-city\" data-tag=\"new-york-city\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York City<\/a> mayor Robert Wagner Jr., who passed away in in 1991, and then remained in the home until her death in 2006 at age 90.
