It\u2019s hard while you\u2019re being faced with charges for a criminal case that you, a crime you didn\u2019t commit, to find employment and to do work and she has bills to pay including $300 dollars a month for a monitor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maria Rojas (kprc)<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Maria Rojas is facing 12 counts of practicing medicine without a license and three counts of performing abortion. She has been out on bond since April 2025.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The Texas Attorney General\u2019s Office announced the first-of-its-kind case in March 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Rojas was indicted on 15 counts in June 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">On Wednesday, a prosecutor from the Attorney General\u2019s Office and Deborde Hochglaube appeared before Waller County District Court Judge Gary Chaney.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">&#8220;We\u2019ve received terabytes of documents, however, none of the information that we\u2019ve received so far is instructive as to how we could ultimately reach a jury trial on these issues,&#8221; said Deborde Hochglaube. \u201cThe material we\u2019ve receive so far doesn\u2019t, in our opinion, add up.
