the fourth-round of Wimbledon, as his opponent retired due to injury.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Italian was dominant in his opening three matches, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/jannik-sinner-reacts-when-told-hes-just-broken-a-roger-federer-record-at-wimbledon-after-reaching-the-fourth-round\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sinner advanced to the last 16<\/a> with the fewest games dropped of any player in Wimbledon history.<\/p>\n<p>He then encountered a big stumbling block, named <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/grigor-dimitrov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grigor Dimitrov<\/a>, who won the first two sets of their fourth-round match.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/jannik-sinner-now-sends-classy-message-to-grigor-dimitrov-on-instagram-after-beating-him-at-wimbledon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dimitrov suffered an injury<\/a> in the third set and was unable to continue as Sinner booked his place in the quarterfinals.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" former tennis star predicted he would get in trouble with his coach, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/darren-cahill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Darren Cahill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sam Querrey thinks Jannik Sinner \u2018got in trouble\u2019 with Darren Cahill after poor fourth-round performance<\/p>\n<p>During the latest episode of Nothing Major, former Wimbledon semi-finalist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/sam-querrey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sam Querrey<\/a> shared what he thinks happened in the locker room on Monday evening.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Jannik] Sinner is going to get a stern talking to in the locker room tonight,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is going to get in trouble from coach [Darren] Cahill and then just come out firing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Querrey believes Sinner will come out firing for his quarterfinal match with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/ben-shelton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ben Shelton<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a tough one because Sinner can just get Ben\u2019s serve back in play and just pepper Ben\u2019s backhand on both sides,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Querrey\u2019s co-host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/steve-johnson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Steve Johnson<\/a> was keen to weigh in with his thoughts on the Shelton\/Sinner matchup.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\" his fifth quarter-final, and he has played the number one or two ranked guy every time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSinner obviously not escaping this one by his own means, but he has got a couple of tough sets out of his system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou feel for Grigor [Dimitrov], but you are not going to see that slow of a start from Sinner in the next round.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Both Querrey and Johnson are head-to-head record<\/p>\n<p>The pair faced off at Wimbledon 12 months ago, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/ben-shelton-reveals-what-he-told-his-coaches-about-his-fitness-ahead-of-his-match-with-jannik-sinner-at-wimbledon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sinner defeated Shelton<\/a> in three sets in their fourth-round match.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Shelton had struggled during the early goings but grew into the match and pushed Sinner close in a third-set tiebreak.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually coming up short 2-6, 4-6, 6-7 [9-11], Shelton proved he could hang with Sinner on grass.<\/p>\n<p>The American hasn\u2019t beaten Sinner since their first career meeting in Shanghai two years ago, when Shelton fought back from a set down to reach the quarterfinals.<\/p>\n<p>Losing their last five matches, Shelton will be determined to return to winning ways at the All England Club.<\/p>\n<p>If he were to do so, he\u2019d join an elite group of players who have reached multiple Grand Slam semi-finals in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Players to have reached multiple target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sinner suffered an injury<\/a> during the first game of his fourth-round clash with Dimitrov and is now set for an MRI on his elbow.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" to withdraw from the tournament, handing Shelton a bye into the last four.<\/p>\n<p>Shelton will try not to think about that, however, as he prepares to play Sinner in the quarterfinals on Wednesday,
