Credit: \u00a9 Juan Vallejo<\/p>\n<p>The mixed-media exhibition \u201cMemories a Lifetime Ago\u201d by San Antonio-based artist Juan Vallejo, which opens this Saturday, examines his experience growing up as a migrant worker. <\/p>\n<p>Vallejo\u2019s youthful memories of months spent planting and harvesting alongside his family now flow through his hands into works art. Using his tactile connection with ceramic, burlap sacks, fabric and found objects, the artist uses this tactile connection to explores identity, culture and the forces that shape memories. <\/p>\n<p>According to Vallejo, his work also offers glimpses into the beauty, hardship and resilience of migrant life, \u201cblending self-portraiture and symbolic stand-ins to honor the culture and history that shaped me.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Free, opening reception 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, and by appointment through Saturday, Jan. 24, Enzminger Studio, 1906 S.
