{"id":5016,"date":"2025-06-22T10:49:20","date_gmt":"2025-06-22T10:49:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/5016\/"},"modified":"2025-06-22T10:49:20","modified_gmt":"2025-06-22T10:49:20","slug":"top-doctor-reveals-life-saving-trio-of-daily-foods-that-could-ward-off-bowel-cancer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/5016\/","title":{"rendered":"Top doctor reveals life-saving trio of daily foods that could ward off bowel cancer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">A top doctor has detailed the cheap store cupboard essentials that can dramatically boost fibre intake\u2014a key way to beat bowel <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/cancer\/index.html\" id=\"mol-828fad00-4dec-11f0-9cf5-d15704928c1a\" rel=\"noopener\">cancer<\/a>, according to experts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">In an Instagram video, viewed 1.1 million times, Dr Karan Rajan, a surgeon working in <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/nhs\/index.html\" id=\"mol-8294b610-4dec-11f0-9cf5-d15704928c1a\" rel=\"noopener\">NHS<\/a> hospitals, dubbed his simple method &#8216;fibermaxxing&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">He said: &#8216;If you want easy ways to fibermaxx with stuff you already have in your kitchen, I am going to show you just how simple it is.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Research shows that fibre\u2014the indigestible parts of plants that aid digestion\u2014plays a key role in preventing bowel cancer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Bowel Cancer UK estimates that a lack of the nutrient is behind 28 per cent of all cases in the UK\u2014yet just nine per cent of adults eat the recommended 30g a day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The doctor suggests eating a combination of ingredients that are each five grams worth of fibre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The list he provides includes: 50g of pistachios or almonds, 80g of raspberries, 100g of frozen peas, 100g of hummus, 50g of dark chocolate and 75 grams of lentils.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">He also recommends fruits like an apple, avocado or a pear a day to boost fibre intake, adding: &#8216;Combining any three for a fibre rich meal would be 15g of fibre.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>   <img decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-f9429b51f58e2c78\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/99574321-14832381-image-a-18_1750433103988.jpg\" height=\"634\" width=\"634\" alt=\"In an Instagram video viewed 1.1 million times Dr Karan Rangarajan said that you do not need supplements to reach your required daily intake of fibre if you follow his tips\" class=\"blkBorder img-share\" style=\"max-width:100%\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>   <\/p>\n<p class=\"imageCaption\">In an Instagram video viewed 1.1 million times Dr Karan Rangarajan said that you do not need supplements to reach your required daily intake of fibre if you follow his tips<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">He continues: &#8216;When you stack fibre like this you are [also] getting it from three different sources all of which provide different phytonutrients, polyphenols and prebiotic fibres.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;These all have different impacts on your gut microbiome and their own special skill set.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Fibre is a type of carbohydrate in plants, but unlike sugar and starch it isn&#8217;t absorbed by the body.
