{"id":50202,"date":"2025-07-09T01:50:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-09T01:50:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/50202\/"},"modified":"2025-07-09T01:50:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-09T01:50:09","slug":"chicago-area-caregiver-charged-after-flushing-stolen-items-from-90-year-old-resident-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/50202\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicago-area caregiver charged after flushing stolen items from 90-year-old resident: police"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p data-v-bd34935e=\"\"><strong>SHOREWOOD, Ill.<\/strong> &#8211; A caregiver at a suburban assisted living facility is facing multiple charges after police say she tried to flush stolen jewelry and cash down the toilet to avoid arrest.<\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-bd34935e=\"\">What we know:<\/p>\n<p data-v-bd34935e=\"\">Shorewood police were called around 1:40 p.m. Monday to a facility in the 1100 block of North River Road to escort the caregiver from the premises.<\/p>\n<p data-v-bd34935e=\"\">Before officers arrived, the caller told dispatchers the woman had allegedly stolen items from a 90-year-old resident and was hiding in a bathroom to evade police and get rid of the evidence.<\/p>\n<p data-v-bd34935e=\"\">Police found 54-year-old Maryln Villalobos, of Orland Park, in the women\u2019s restroom attempting to flush jewelry down a toilet, authorities said.
