{"id":502142,"date":"2026-01-08T20:46:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T20:46:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/502142\/"},"modified":"2026-01-08T20:46:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-08T20:46:12","slug":"dallas-sanitation-collecting-christmas-trees-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/502142\/","title":{"rendered":"Dallas Sanitation collecting Christmas trees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The City of Dallas is collecting used Christmas trees ahead of the close of the holiday season.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lakehighlands.advocatemag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Alley-trash-collection-may-end-soon-based-on-recommendations-by-sanitation-officials.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-158716\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Alley-trash-collection-may-end-soon-based-on-recommendations-by-sanitation-officials.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2546\" height=\"1740\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-123156\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-123156\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo by Carol Toler.<\/p>\n<p>Until Jan. 24,<a href=\"https:\/\/dallascityhall.com\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> City of Dallas<\/a> residents can drop off used, undecorated Christmas trees at<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallascitynews.net\/city-of-dallas-christmas-tree-recycling-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> four sanitation department sites<\/a>, including the Northeast Transfer Station in Lake Highlands. Neighbors can also leave their trees out for regularly scheduled brush and bulky item collection.<\/p>\n<p>For brush and bulky trash pickup, residents must place trees on the curb by 7 a.m. the Monday of pickup week. Trees must be natural and stripped of garlands, ornaments, lights and any other decorations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>To get rid of trees at the Fair Oaks Transfer Station or any other permitted dumping sites, neighbors must have a valid driver\u2019s license and proof of residency, which can be shown with a Dallas Water Utilities Bill or the address on their ID.
