{"id":50218,"date":"2025-07-09T01:58:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-09T01:58:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/50218\/"},"modified":"2025-07-09T01:58:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-09T01:58:11","slug":"zohran-mamdani-won-most-votes-of-a-candidate-nyc-primary-history","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/50218\/","title":{"rendered":"Zohran Mamdani won most votes of a candidate NYC primary history"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/25\/us-news\/zohran-mamdanis-surprise-victory-came-from-lefty-nyc-neighborhoods-and-a-far-broader-coalition-of-voters-expected-for-a-socialist\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani<\/a> won more votes than any other mayoral candidate in New York City primary election history, according to updated tallies released Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The city <a href=\"https:\/\/enr.boenyc.gov\/rcv\/026916_1.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Board of Elections\u2019 unofficial figures showed <\/a>that in round three of the Democratic Party\u2019s ranked-choice voting primary last year, the democratic socialist netted 565,639 votes after 102,000 votes were transferred from other candidates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the updated RCV totals just released by the Board of Elections, our campaign has officially earned the most total votes in a primary in New York City History,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ZohranKMamdani\/status\/1942652194013970805\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">state Assemblyman from Queens boasted on X.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.50146628;display:block\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"36476387\" width=\"886\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/newspress-collage-8krozhy60-1752009753636.jpg\" alt=\"Zohran Mamdani, New York mayoral candidate, speaks at an election night party\" class=\"wp-image-36476387\"  \/>Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani received more votes than any other mayoral candidate in New York City primary election history, according to Board of Election figures.
