AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>He also said Riddle, who\u2019s been in attendance for the Grand Slam and was on hand for his four-set quarters win on Court 1, can be like a \u201cmother\u201d with him in the sense that she can help ensure he has a proper diet and sleep.<\/p>\n<p>But Fritz realized maybe equating a mother and girlfriend wasn\u2019t the best idea. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, that maybe wasn\u2019t the best choice of words.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Riddle has dated Fritz since 2020 and has been public with their relationship. <\/p>\n<p>Morgan Riddle, partner of Taylor Fritz of the U.S. in the stands before his quarterfinal match against Russia\u2019s Karen Khachanov. Icon Sportswire via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think historically, a lot of the older wives and partners on the [tennis] tour have been very private, heads down, in the box,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/03\/12\/sports\/morgan-riddle-hits-back-over-criticism-shes-capitalizing-on-taylor-fritzs-tennis-career\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Riddle said on \u201cThe Squeeze\u201d podcast<\/a>. \u201cThey\u2019re there to cheer on their partner and they didn\u2019t have super public personas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026 I don\u2019t know if this is true, but I\u2019ve been told by people on the tennis tour that when I was first posting TikTok [videos] a couple years ago, there was a clique of older wives on the tour and they would send my videos in their group chat and just make fun of me. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I definitely got a lot of backlash, both from within in the tennis community and the fans \u2014 I think because it was different. And I\u2019m calling attention to myself. I guess people expected me to sit in the box, be relatively private and not capitalize on my partner\u2019s career. And I kinda came in guns blazing.\u00a0I was like, \u2018well, f\u2013k that,\u2019 and posted whatever I wanted to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The fifth-seededFritz now has a date with No. 2 seed Carlos Alcaraz \u2014 the two-time defending Wimbledon champ \u2014 in the semifinals.<\/p>\n<p>If Fritz were to win, it would be just his second Grand Slam final appearance after falling just short at last year\u2019s U.S. Open.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Taylor Fritz is using the power of love to continue his run at Wimbledon.
