Mother Gothel is the villain of the original animated film, one who poses as an overprotective guardian to Rapunzel while secretly using her ward\u2019s magic hair to stay young and beautiful. Disney had no comment on the matter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tMichael Gracey (\u201cThe Greatest Showman\u201d) will direct the project, set to roll later this year. Kristin Burr (\u201cFreakier Friday,\u201d \u201cCruella\u201d) is producing from a script by multi-hyphenate Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (\u201cSomeone Great,\u201d \u201cDo Revenge,\u201d \u201cI Know What You Did Last Summer\u201d).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe original \u201cTangled\u201d released in 2010 and earned nearly $600 million at the worldwide box office. The voice cast featured Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, Brad Garrett and Donna Murphy as Mother Gothel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tHahn is on a hot streak with Apple\u2019s awards magnet \u201cThe Studio,\u201d where she portrays the foul-mouthed label-whore film marketing executive Maya Mason. The comedy followed the \u201cAgatha\u201d series on Disney+, a spinoff from \u201cWandaVision\u201d where she debuted as Marvel witch Agatha Harkness. She will next appear in \u201cMadden,\u201d David O.
