Mikel Arteta has insisted that Gabriel Martinelli had \u201czero intention\u201d of making Conor Bradley<\/a>\u2018s situation worse, after the Brazilian pushed Liverpool\u2019s right-back while down injured. <\/strong><\/p>\n

In added time, Bradley went as he injured his knee on the touchline. The nearby Martinelli then threw the ball at the 22-year-old before nudging him with his knee and pushing Bradley, who was in severe discomfort.<\/p>\n

Martinelli\u2019s Bradley push: A quick look<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2022 Arteta\u2019s defence:<\/b> The Arsenal<\/a> boss insisted Gabriel Martinelli<\/b> had \u201czero intention\u201d of causing harm when pushing the injured Conor Bradley<\/a><\/b>. <\/p>\n

\u2022 Liverpool anger:<\/b> Dominik Szoboszlai<\/a><\/b> reacted, saying player health is \u201cmuch more important\u201d than winning the game. <\/p>\n

\u2022 Injury update:<\/b> Bradley left the pitch on a stretcher with a knee injury; Arne Slot<\/a><\/b> expressed his distaste for the Brazilian\u2019s actions. <\/p>\n

This understandably caused an angry reaction to the Brazilian\u2019s actions, though Arteta has since told Sky Sports<\/a> that Martinelli has \u201czero intention\u201d of doing anything bad.<\/p>\n

The Arsenal<\/a> manager said: \u201cProbably he doesn\u2019t know because knowing Gabi (Martinelli), he has zero intention. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what happened to Conor but hopefully it is not bad. Obviously it is not intentional from Gabi to do anything bad to him.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Martinelli mightn\u2019t have intended to injure Bradley further, his reaction was still unacceptable, especially from a player who has himself suffered a serious knee injury in the past.<\/p>\n

Dominik Szoboszlai<\/a> was also asked for his reaction to the incident, the Hungarian saying: \u201cI see that Conor twisted his knee \u2013 I don\u2019t know what is going on with him. <\/p>\n

\u201cObviously he didn\u2019t want to come back to the pitch to time-waste or something.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe just had so much pain that he couldn\u2019t even think where he rolled. And then you come there to push him there off the pitch.<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand you want to win, we want to win as well, but I think that the health of the player is much more important than something else.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arne Slot<\/a> added: \u201cI don\u2019t like to see one of my players being moved when they could have such a great injury.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Liverpool didn\u2019t come away with a win, they at least played better than in previous weeks against the best team in the league.<\/p>\n

They limited Arsenal<\/a> to zero shots on target after the break and had 65 percent of the possession in the second half.<\/p>\n

Szoboszlai thought Liverpool took \u201ca step forward,\u201d saying: \u201cWe showed again that even against a team who is top of the table we can compete, and that\u2019s [what] we will take with us for the next weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course it is not easy to play here against such a great team, but I think none of the teams like to run against the ball in the Premier League<\/a>, especially when two teams play with such big quality. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo in the first half we tried to keep the ball as much as we could and the second half, the same. I think the second half a little, but more in the first half than in the second half.<\/p>\n
