McConnell said his wife told him about the camera before he arrived at work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe goes, when you&#8217;re in front of Spaghetti Factory, there&#8217;s gonna be a camera looking at you,\u201d McConnell said. \u201cWhen you go there, call me, and I&#8217;ll look you up. I just called her when you&#8217;re here, I&#8217;m thinking, oh, this is kind of weird.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The live stream camera is mounted on the balcony of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bijutcollection.com\/?gad_source=1&amp;gad_campaignid=23286071485&amp;gbraid=0AAAABATIqUjXrzSg3bkW3HRtVqQbvkxc7&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQiAyP3KBhD9ARIsAAJLnnYSi4btr8x8mgwF_9sL9awBnhRHLktggKWW4mqRXz9SByKCTuqXDdoaAqn-EALw_wcB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bijut Collection<\/a>, a permanent jewelry studio overlooking Fifth Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Owners Carmen and Kevin Layton said the vantage point gives viewers an authentic look at downtown life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlways, there&#8217;s always something going on in Gaslamp,\u201d Carmen Layton said.<\/p>\n<p>While the camera runs continuously, a neighboring <a href=\"https:\/\/redideostudio.com\/?srsltid=AfmBOooW1sdK_lggXzGnUacTUTfvbP4w19SMQPwdltE9bkqv8BjZvO6s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">creative agency, Redideo Studio<\/a>, manages the webpage, allowing locals, tourists and curious viewers to check in at any time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring Padres games, if people want to see what the parking looks like during Comic Con, if they want to see how much foot traffic is down there, just for their own entertainment, or to plan ahead and see, you know, if they&#8217;ll be able to find parking or where to go,\u201d said Kevin Layton.<\/p>\n<p>The Laytons emphasize that the camera is live only and does not record footage.
