San Diego Theatre Newsletter<\/p>\n<p class=\"newsletter-subtitle\" style=\"color: #cccccc; font-size: 16px; margin: 0 0 20px 0; line-height: 1.5; font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif;\">\n            Get all the top news &amp; discounts for San Diego &amp; beyond.\n        <\/p>\n<p>The event will be presented at the Dottie Studio Theater, located within the Joan and <a target=\"newwinddow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadwayworld.com\/people\/Irwin-Jacobs\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Irwin Jacobs<\/a> Performing Arts Center at Liberty Station. The performance marks the continuation of Write Out Loud\u2019s season-long residency at the newly opened venue.<\/p>\n<p>WONDER WOMEN will feature rehearsed readings by professional actors <a target=\"newwinddow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadwayworld.com\/people\/Linda-Libby\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Linda Libby<\/a>, <a target=\"newwinddow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadwayworld.com\/people\/Monique-Gaffney\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Monique Gaffney<\/a>, and Write Out Loud Artistic Director <a target=\"newwinddow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadwayworld.com\/people\/Veronica-Murphy\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Veronica Murphy<\/a>. The program will weave together stories, poetry, and literary selections centered on women navigating power, identity, and achievement across cultures and history.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor our Wonder Women concert, we want to celebrate the power of women in our culture,\u201d said Murphy. \u201cWomen are strong because we have to be\u2014as we actualize ourselves within a culture of historic patriarchy. These stories will focus on women working to accomplish big things. I&#8217;m excited to perform with <a target=\"newwinddow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadwayworld.com\/people\/Monique-Gaffney\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Monique Gaffney<\/a> and <a target=\"newwinddow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadwayworld.com\/people\/Linda-Libby\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Linda Libby<\/a>, some powerhouse voices from the San Diego theatre community. Our \u2018Wonder Women\u2019 include Atlanta, Wonder Woman, <a target=\"newwinddow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadwayworld.com\/people\/Maya-Angelou\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Maya Angelou<\/a>, <a target=\"newwinddow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadwayworld.com\/people\/Sally-Ann\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Sally Ann<\/a> Thunder Ann Whirlwind, La Diablesse and others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Write Out Loud Story Concerts present themed literary programs performed aloud for live audiences, combining fiction, poetry, and occasionally music into curated performances. Founded in 2007, the organization presents a six-concert season annually in addition to educational and community-based programming.<\/p>\n<p>Future Story Concerts in the current season will include An Enchanted Evening, The Soaring Crane, and We the People, all presented at the Dottie Studio Theater.<\/p>\n<p>General admission tickets are $25, with discounted pricing available for military members and seniors.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\ud83c\udfad NEW!
