Unsure where they came from, but knowing they needed help, the family decided to foster the pups while searching for their forever homes.

At just seven months old, Axl and Slash are already stealing hearts. The bonded pair gets along well with other dogs and has done great with the family’s older German Shepherds. They’re full of energy and would thrive in an active home ready to keep up with puppy zoomies, playtime, and lots of love.

While the two look alike, their personalities couldn’t be more different. Axl is the quiet cuddler… affectionate, gentle, and always ready for kisses and pets. His foster family says they’ve never even heard him bark. Slash, on the other hand, has plenty to say. He’s vocal, expressive, and not shy about letting you know when he disagrees, though cuddles are reserved strictly on his terms.

Both dogs are crate-trained and potty-trained, responding quickly to routines and cues like “potty” and “get in your house.” They love treats, enjoy being petted, and have no known medical issues. They are current on their rabies vaccinations but are not yet neutered.

The family searched for an owner, posting ads and checking for leads, but now believes the dogs were abandoned in the neighborhood. With shelters at capacity, they’ve continued fostering the pups in hopes the right family will come along.

There is no adoption fee. The goal, they say, is simple… to make sure Axl and Slash land in a safe, loving home.

If you’re interested in giving these two forgotten friends the future they deserve, you can email rose79@mail.com or call (210) 884-2875.

Sometimes, all it takes is opening a door — and your heart — to change a life. 🐾

CHECK OUT THEIR PHOTOS

Welcome to the Jungle | Axl and Slash are looking for a forever home

Remember when you adopt a shelter pet, you save two lives… the one you bring home with you and the one that now will be saved because the shelter has more room.

You can go to KENS5.com/ForgottenFriends to check out more stories, photos and videos of adoptable pets, plus updates on pets we’ve featured who have found a new “forever” home.

If you know of a Forgotten Friend that has been overlooked and is still looking for a “furr-ever” home, contact Andrea at acarden@kens5.com.

Two affectionate German Shepherd mix puppies found wandering in a San Antonio neighborhood are now hoping to be…

[5133
5229,7202,7203,358,3187,67,586,132,5230,68,2969
0":"post-503546","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-san-antonio","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-san-antonio","10":"tag-sanantonio","11":"tag-texas","12":"tag-tx","13":"tag-united-states","14":"tag-united-states-of-america","15":"tag-unitedstates","16":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","17":"tag-us","18":"tag-usa
["GET
