{"id":504034,"date":"2026-01-09T15:46:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T15:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/504034\/"},"modified":"2026-01-09T15:46:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T15:46:09","slug":"minneapolis-ice-shooting-under-investigation-unrest-breaks-out-in-minnesota","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/504034\/","title":{"rendered":"Minneapolis ICE shooting under investigation, unrest breaks out in Minnesota"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey made a plea Friday for state investigators to become involved in the investigation into the shooting death of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/who-renee-nicole-good-woman-killed-minneapolis-ice-shooting\" target=\"_blank\" data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_live-news_article_main-content_image_minneapolis-mayor-pleads-for-state-investigators-to-be-allowed-into-ice-shooting-probe_0_article-link_1\" rel=\"noopener\">Renee Nicole Good<\/a> by an ICE agent, calling the Trump administration\u2019s description of the events \u201cdeeply concerning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Frey spoke after the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said Thursday it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/minnesota-bureau-criminal-apprehension-drops-out-ice-involved-shooting-investigation\" target=\"_blank\" data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_live-news_article_main-content_image_minneapolis-mayor-pleads-for-state-investigators-to-be-allowed-into-ice-shooting-probe_0_article-link_2\" rel=\"noopener\">withdrawing from the investigation<\/a> after being told by the FBI it would not have access to the materials required for a \u201cthorough and independent\u201d review. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem later said, \u201cThey have not been cut out, they don\u2019t have any jurisdiction in this investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cIn Minneapolis, when a tragedy strikes, there&#8217;s one word that summarizes what is most important. And that word is integrity. This is not the time to bend the rules. This is a time to follow the law. This is not a time to hide from the facts. This is a time to embrace them, making sure that we&#8217;re pushing for transparency every step of the way,\u201d Frey said Friday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The fact that Pam Bondi&#8217;s Department of Justice and this presidential administration has already come to a conclusion about those facts is deeply concerning. The facts that from the very beginning, they&#8217;re calling the victim a \u2018domestic terrorist.\u2019 They&#8217;re calling the actions of the agent involved as some form of defensive posture. We know that they&#8217;ve already determined much of the investigation, and even if they haven&#8217;t, there is the appearance that there is some conclusion drawn from the very beginning,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;Our ask is to embrace the truth. Our ask is to include the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension in this process, because we in Minneapolis want a fair investigation. Is it deeply concerning that this administration, from the very get go, is drawing the conclusion that they may ultimately come to? Of course, it is,\u201d Frey added. \u201cAnd if you got nothing to hide from, then don&#8217;t hide from it. Include local experts in the process. We got nothing to hide from here.
