Some overly-friendly NYC firefighters got caught playing with fire on the Lower East Side this week.<\/p>\n
The Bravest from Ladder Co. 18 landed in trouble after giving two party girls a lift inside their rig, officials confirmed to The Post Friday.<\/p>\n
Video captured the young women laughing and waving to onlookers on the sidewalk, and gleefully snapping selfies while hanging out of the ladder truck\u2019s cab window.<\/p>\n
The women took selfies Thursday night as Ladder 18 served as their chauffeurs. LoudlabsNYC<\/p>\n
The incident, which involved firefighters from the Engine 15\/Ladder 18 firehouse on Pitt Street on the Lower East Side, is under investigation, FDNY spokeswoman Amanda Farinacci Gonzalez confirmed.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s stupid,\u201d said an FDNY chief, who asked not to be named. \u201cIt\u2019s just a stupid thing to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
The fire apparatus \u2014 with its emergency lights active \u2014 was filmed driving on Essex Street at the intersection of East Houston Street.<\/p>\n
Officials said they want to identify the firefighters involved and their female passengers \u2014 a brunette and a blonde, who donned one of the firefighters\u2019 helmets.<\/p>\n
The video was first posted to YouTube early Friday morning.<\/p>\n
\u201cFirefighters just picked up some chicks at a Lower East Side bar,\u201d the man who filmed the reckless ride-share said in the clip.<\/p>\n

The cameraman spotted the same truck and some firefighters only moments before socializing with people at a nearby bar, he told The Post.<\/p>\n
The firefighters also allegedly sounded the fire engine\u2019s horn \u201cat the request of the girls in the firetruck,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The video also shows two NYPD officers at the scene, guarding a moped involved in an accident.<\/p>\n

\u201cCops are like, \u2018What the hell? Why do firefighters get to have all the fun?’\u201d the poster quipped.<\/p>\n
A high-ranking FDNY chief said the stunt was no laughing matter.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe allow people to come on the rigs,\u201d the chief said. \u201cWe put kids in the rigs all the time for fire safety education and public relations. But as soon as the rig starts to move, that\u2019s a different story.\u201d<\/p>\n
Had an emergency call come in at the same time, \u201cYou have to now stop, and everyone has to get off safely,\u201d taking up precious response time, the chief said.<\/p>\n
Additionally, if the fire truck was involved in a collision, it could have injured the women, who were standing inside.<\/p>\n
The chief said he assumes an officer was on the truck,\u00a0and would likely be \u201cdisciplined immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n
Firefighters arriving for work at the ladder company declined to comment Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Their rig was found beneath tons of debris and ash.<\/p>\n
