Facebook post<\/a> that she has decided to transition out of ownership and sell the business to her partner, Tony Vu, who will become the sole owner.<\/p>\nHagerty said she started the \u201cmission-driven restaurant\u201d nearly eight years ago as a way to thank the United States for welcoming her family as refugees and immigrants. <\/p>\n
The Good Bowl came to represent more than \u201cgreat food\u201d and reflected a belief that business can be a force for \u201cgrowth and good,\u201d according to Hagerty. <\/p>\n
Hagerty said she was ready to move into a next chapter that will allow her to focus more deeply on supporting female founders and women leaders through her private foundation and broader professional work.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis has been the third business I\u2019ve built \u2014 and by far the most challenging,\u201d Hagerty said, adding that restaurants are \u201cfragile\u201d and can shift from \u201cjoyful to stressful in minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hagerty said The Good Bowl\u2019s commitment to \u201cCuisine, Community, and Culture\u201d and to being a business rooted in \u201cGrowth + Good\u201d would remain. <\/p>\n
She said she planned to continue supporting the restaurant and community events.<\/p>\n
In the post, Hagerty thanked guests, partners and the team and closed her message with \u201cMot Hai Ba Yo! (1, 2, 3 Cheers!).\u201d<\/p>\n
Vu told 9&10 News the restaurant\u2019s mission and values will remain unchanged. <\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of our core values are going to remain intact,\u201d he said, adding that the business will continue to give back through its established donation model. <\/p>\n
Vu described The Good Bowl as a reflection of family traditions and immigrant experiences. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe are a Vietnamese restaurant rooted in our memories of Vietnamese food \u2014 the food that we grew up with, that our mothers cooked for us,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
He said any changes going forward will be gradual, shaped by his culinary background and life experiences. <\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019ll start to see some subtle changes, nothing drastic right off the bat,\u201d Vu said. <\/p>\n
Both Hagerty and Vu said they hope the restaurant continues to serve as a welcoming gathering place and a bridge between food and community in Traverse City.<\/p>\n
Further details regarding upcoming events and community support are anticipated as Vu settles into his new role.<\/p>\n
