(KATU) \u2014 The Department of Homeland Security has released the identities of the two people shot by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent in southeast Portland.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE | <a href=\"https:\/\/katu.com\/news\/local\/ice-shoots-two-people-in-portlandoregon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">US Border agent shoots, wounds two people in Portland that DHS says are gang members<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>DHS says that the husband and wife are identified as Luis David Nico Moncada and Yorlenys Betzabeth Zambrano-Contreras.<\/p>\n<p>Officials say both are criminal illegal aliens from Venezuela. Moncada is a suspected Tren de Aragua gang member. Zambrano-Contreras is allegedly associated with Tren de Aragua prostitution ring and was involved with a prior shooting in Portland.<\/p>\n<p>Moncada, \u201cillegally entered the U.S. in 2022 and was RELEASED into the country by the Biden administration. Since then, he was arrested for DUI and unauthorized use of a vehicle. He has a final order of removal,\u201d DHS said in a post on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Zambrano-Contreras, \u201cillegally entered the U.S. in 2023 near El Paso, Texas, and was RELEASED into this country by the Biden administration. Since illegally entering, Contreras played an active role in a Tren de Aragua prostitution ring and was involved with a prior shooting in Portland,\u201d DHS said in a post on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Comment with Bubbles<\/p>\n<p>JOIN THE CONVERSATION (53)<\/p>\n<p>Officials say Moncada was behind the wheel of the vehicle on Thursday when he was shot.
