San Antonio River Walk’s main channel and loop will be drained January 11-19 for essential maintenance, impacting river activities.<\/p>\n

SAN ANTONIO \u2014 The main channel and loop of the San Antonio River Walk will be drained starting this Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The maintenance project is regularly conducted to keep one of San Antonio’s main tourist attractions clean and nice for both residents and visitors. It will take place from Sunday, Jan. 11 – Jan. 19.<\/p>\n

The work is being done by the City of San Antonio\u2019s Center City Development and Operations Department, Public Works Department, and San Antonio River Authority.<\/p>\n

The city says crews will completely drain the main channel of the River Walk, as the loop and the extension areas from West Josephine to South Alamo Street.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There are no planned road closures, but Go Rio Cruises will not be in operation in either the main River Walk area or the Museum Reach section.<\/p>\n

In the drained sections of river, crews will removing sediment buildup and debris, inspecting the channel\u2019s integrity, and making any necessary repairs.
