So Rond\u00e9 Barber works for the Buccaneers and talked yesterday about walking around team headquarters this week and feeling a somber vibe.<\/p>\n

Barber also is a personal friend of Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht.<\/p>\n

So, of course, Joe is going to listen close to what Barber has to say.<\/p>\n

The Rond\u00e9 Barber Show\u00a0is a WFLA-TV<\/a> streaming property that appears to be supported by the Buccaneers. Not only are team advertising partners supporting the show with advertising, months ago Barber thanked the Bucs for helping put the show together.<\/p>\n

On Thursday\u2019s episode, Barber was asked about how many Bucs fans expected the Team Glazer \u201cgavel to fall\u201d on Todd Bowles after a late-season collapse, rather than only on assistant coaches. Barber\u2019s quick reply was about money.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook, you just paid the guy this past offseason,\u201d Barber said, referring to Bowles\u2019 contract being extended through 2028. \u201cYou\u2019re kidding yourself if you think it doesn\u2019t matter that they just paid Todd Bowles. Right? They like the guy, too. He\u2019s likeable.\u201d<\/p>\n

What? The NFL is a business? Money matters? Decisions are made because of money?<\/p>\n

Apparently so.<\/p>\n
