LOS ANGELES (AP) \u2014 \u201cOne Battle After Another,\u201d<\/a>\u201cSinners\u201d<\/a> and \u201cMarty Supreme\u201d scored another pivotal nomination from the Producers Guild. <\/p>\n

The Producers Guild of America on Friday named 10 nominees for the Darryl F. Zanuck Award, their top prize and a reliable Oscar best picture bellwether, including awards season mainstays like \u201cFrankenstein,\u201d \u201cHamnet\u201d and \u201cSentimental Value.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBugonia\u201d<\/a> and \u201cTrain Dreams\u201d were also among the nominees, as well as two more unexpected choices: The Formula One racing movie \u201cF1\u201d<\/a> and the horror hit \u201cWeapons.\u201d Notably, four of the films on the list, \u201cF1,\u201d \u201cWeapons,\u201d \u201cOne Battle After Another\u201d and \u201cSinners\u201d were Warner Bros.<\/a> theatrical releases.<\/p>\n

Not included, however, were \u201cAvatar: Fire and Ash\u201d<\/a> or \u201cWicked: For Good,\u201d two big budget, studio spectacles that might have been considered shoo-ins for a producing honor.<\/p>\n

The nominees aligned closely with the five films singled out by the actors guild<\/a> and the directors guild<\/a> earlier this week. The full list of 10 could also very well predict the best picture batch when Oscar nominations are announced on Jan. 22.<\/p>\n

The winner of the Zanuck award has 17 times in the past 22 years gone on to win the best picture Oscar as well, including last year with \u201cAnora.\u201d <\/a><\/p>\n

The guild also nominated five films for animated feature, including \u201cKPop Demon Hunters,\u201d \u201cZootopia 2,\u201d \u201cElio,\u201d \u201cThe Bad Guys 2\u201d and \u201cDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle.\u201d<\/p>\n

They also recognize television shows and movies, where nominees in the various categories include \u201cAndor,\u201d \u201cThe Pitt,\u201d \u201cSouth Park,\u201d \u201cAdolescence,\u201d \u201cThe Late Show with Stephen Colbert\u201d and \u201cMr. Scorsese.\u201d<\/p>\n
