\u201cYou defend ownership, you don\u2019t defend leases, and we\u2019ll have to defend Greenland,\u201d President Trump said.<\/p>\n

Gallego said his focus moving forward is on domestic issues, particularly the cost of living facing middle-class Americans.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is really hard to live in the U.S. right now if you\u2019re working class,\u201d Gallego said. \u201cInsurance is too expensive, rent is too expensive, you can\u2019t buy a car, you can\u2019t start a business, and the president is focused on starting wars everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gallego says health care is one of his top priorities. As Republicans have largely opposed extending Affordable Care Act subsidies, Gallego said Democrats may need to compromise, but warned that ending subsidies without alternatives would hurt Arizona families.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand it\u2019s not a perfect system,\u201d Gallego said. \u201cBut right now we\u2019re hearing the worst of the worst, people deciding they\u2019d rather just take their chances instead of buying health insurance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gallego\u2019s comments come as Congress also faces another potential government shutdown, with federal funding set to expire January 30.<\/p>\n
