Concord Theatricals Recordings releases the digital version of the 2025 Broadway cast recording of Lincoln Center Theater<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0acclaimed revival of Ragtime<\/a>, directed by Lear deBessonet, January 9.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Two-CD and two-LP editions will follow, with the CDs becoming
\navailable February 6 and three color variants of the LP version
\nreleasing April 3. A “Lady Liberty Green” edition will get a wide
\nrelease, while an “America” color will be available exclusively at
\nBarnes and Noble and a “Ragtime Red” edition will be available
\nexclusively via Lincoln Center Theater and Creative Goods. Pre-orders of

To celebrate the January 9\u00a0release of the album, music videos for \u201cWheels of a Dream,\u201d featuring Tony\u00a0nominee Joshua Henry<\/a> and Nichelle Lewis<\/a>, and \u201cJourney On,\u201d featuring Olivier\u00a0nominee Caissie Levy<\/a>, Tony winner Brandon Uranowitz<\/a>, and Colin Donnell<\/a>, have been released.\u00a0Watch them below.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been one of the great honors of my career to know and work with
\n Lynn and Stephen, so I leapt at the chance to collaborate with them to
\nrecord Ragtime, a score I have loved since I first heard the
\nconcept album nearly 30 years ago,\u201d said\u00a0Concord Chief Theatricals
\nExecutive (and album producer) Sean Patrick Flahaven in an earlier\u00a0statement.
\n\u201cThis truly extraordinary production, with its cast of 37 and orchestra
\nof 28, creates an astonishing sound that we rarely get to hear anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re well aware of the resources needed to make a recording of this
\n size, and we\u2019re so grateful to everyone who helped make it happen,\u201d added\u00a0Ahrens and Flaherty. \u201cCapturing these extraordinary performances at
\nthis particular moment in time feels like catching lightning in a
\nbottle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ahrens and Flaherty join Flahaven in producing the release, which features recording, editing, and mixing by Ian Kagey, and mastering
\nby Oscar Zambrano. Art direction is by Derek Bishop.<\/p>\n

The revival began previews September 26, 2025,\u00a0and officially opened October
\n 16, with freshly appointed LCT Artistic Director deBessonet back
\nat the helm after creating the production last year for a short run at

The extended run is currently scheduled to continue through June 14, 2026.<\/p>\n

Henry, Levy, and Uranowitz lead the cast as
\nCoalhouse Walker, Jr., Mother, and Tateh, respectively, with Donnell (Anything Goes) as Father, Lewis (The Wiz) as Sarah, Ben Levi Ross<\/a> (Dear Evan Hansen) as Mother’s Younger Brother, Shaina Taub<\/a> (Julie Benko<\/a> is currently stepping in for Taub, who is set to return March 31) as Emma Goldman, John Clay III<\/a> (New York, New York) as Booker T. Washington, and Rodd Cyrus<\/a> (The Light in the Piazza)
\n as Harry Houdini<\/a>, all reprising their performances from the New York
\nCity Center run. The Broadway cast also features Anna Grace Barlow<\/a> as
\nEvelyn Nesbit, Nick Barrington<\/a> as The Little Boy, and Tabitha Lawing<\/a> as
\nThe Little Girl.<\/p>\n

The ensemble features Nicholas Barr\u00f3n<\/a>, Lauren Blackman<\/a>, Allison
\nBlackwell, Briana Carlson-Goodman<\/a>, Jordan Chin<\/a>, Billy Cohen<\/a>, Rheaume
\nCrenshaw, Charity Ang\u00e9l Dawson<\/a>, Ellie Fishman<\/a>, Jason Forbach<\/a>, Ta\u2019Nika
\nGibson, David Jennings<\/a>, Kaleb Johnson<\/a>, Marina Kondo<\/a>, Morgan Marcell<\/a>,
\nKane Emmanuel Miller<\/a>, Tom Nelis<\/a>, Kent Overshown<\/a>, Kayla Pecchioni<\/a>, John
\nRapson, Deandre Sevon<\/a>, Jacob Keith Watson<\/a>, and Alan Wiggins<\/a>. Swings and
\nunderstudies Eean Sherrod Cochran<\/a>, Kerry Conte<\/a>, Nick Gaswirth<\/a>, Jackson
\nParker Gill, Jenny Mollet<\/a>, Matthew Scott<\/a>, and Ellie May Sennett<\/a> round
\nout the company. Casting is by The Telsey Office<\/a>‘s Craig Burns.<\/p>\n

The production also\u00a0features choreography by Ellenore Scott<\/a>, set design by
\n David Korins<\/a>, costume design by Linda Cho<\/a>, lighting design by Adam
\nHonore\u0301, sound design by Kai Harada<\/a>, projection design by 59 Studio, and
\n hair and wig design by Tom Watson<\/a>. Music director James Moore is
\nconducting a 28-piece orchestra playing the original orchestrations by
\nWilliam David Brohn<\/a>, and vocal arrangements by Flaherty. Ann James is
\nsensitivity specialist, and Cody Renard Richard<\/a> serves as production
\nstage manager.<\/p>\n

Based on a novel by E.L. Doctorow<\/a>, Ragtime blends fact and
\nfiction telling the story of New York City at the dawn of the 20th
\ncentury, with a book by Terrence McNally<\/a>, music by Flaherty, and lyrics
\nby Ahrens. The story focuses on Coalhouse Walker, Jr., a Black man who
\nbuys a Model T Ford and sets off a chain of events that encompass all
\nlevels of New York City society, along with magician Harry Houdini,
\nindustrialist Henry Ford, celebrity party girl Evelyn Nesbit, civil
\nrights leader Booker T. Washington, architect Stanford White, anarchist
\nEmma Goldman, a Jewish Latvian immigrant who becomes a movie director,
\nand an upper class white family living in suburban New Rochelle.<\/p>\n

The musical premiered on Broadway in 1998 following a pre-Broadway
\nbow in Toronto, with an original cast that boasted Brian Stokes
\nMitchell, Audra McDonald<\/a>, and Marin Mazzie<\/a>. McDonald won the second of
\nher six career Tony Awards for her featured performance as Sarah. Even
\nin a year otherwise dominated by juggernaut The Lion King, Ragtime managed to also win Tonys for McNally’s book and Flaherty and Ahrens’ score, along with Brohn’s orchestrations.<\/p>\n
