Calgary police say the suspicious death of a woman in her 80s in the southwest community of Canyon Meadows on Thursday is now being investigated as a homicide.<\/p>\n

Police said the call came in around 10:50 a.m. to a home in the 13000 block of Canterbury Gardens southwest.<\/p>\n
When officers arrived, they discovered the body of the woman.<\/p>\n
Investigators were still at the scene Friday morning, looking for video from CCTV cameras and hoping to speak to any witnesses.<\/p>\n

Following the results of an autopsy, which police said confirmed the death to be a homicide, investigators announced another woman had been taken into custody.<\/p>\n

However, because the killing is believed to be domestic in nature, police said no names would be released in order to protect the family.<\/p>\n
