Western Week rides back into Scottsdale this month with a weeklong celebration honoring the city\u2019s Western roots, Native American cultures and rich history.<\/p>\n
The annual event takes place throughout Old Town Scottsdale from Saturday, Jan. 24, through Sunday, Feb. 1, offering a mix of family-friendly activities, cultural experiences and community events, according to a press release.<\/p>\n
Residents and visitors can enjoy hands-on workshops, historical programs, live entertainment, museum experiences and the Parada del Sol parade.<\/p>\n

The parade is scheduled to run from 9:30 a.m. to noon Jan. 31. Approximately 150 entries are entered in the parade, including floats, mounted riders, marching bands and horse-drawn carriages. This year\u2019s theme is, \u201cA Diamond in the Desert: Celebrating 75 Years of Scottsdale.\u201d<\/p>\n
One of the week\u2019s largest events, the Arizona Indian Festival, returns to the Scottsdale Civic Center, 3939 N. Drinkwater Boulevard, on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.<\/p>\n
Hosted by the Arizona American Indian Tourism Association, the festival features representatives from all 22 Arizona tribes, along with traditional arts and crafts, cultural demonstrations, food, performances and an indigenous food symposium.<\/p>\n
