Winter nights in New York don\u2019t usually come with much in the way of spectacle but, on Sunday, the sky over Brooklyn is about to do some heavy lifting.<\/p>\n
At 6:15pm on Sunday, a fleet of 300 synchronized drones will take over the airspace above the Greenpoint waterfront<\/a>, staging a 12-minute light show that marries an art installation with a civic moment. The event is presented by Marriott Bonvoy and produced in partnership with Children\u2019s Miracle Network<\/a>.<\/p>\n Instead of fireworks, there will be glowing aerial animations: a children\u2019s hospital, a family, CMN\u2019s iconic balloon logo and a series of storytelling visuals visible from blocks away. The centerpiece of the presentation is CMN\u2019s \u201cBalloon Signal of Support,\u201d the organization\u2019s riff on the bat signal.<\/p>\n The show is celebrating the public launch of CMN\u2019s new $1 billion Health For All Kids Impact Pledge, a two-year fundraising push aimed at helping children\u2019s hospitals navigate a challenging financial landscape as pediatric care becomes more complex and traditional funding sources become increasingly unreliable. Now, unrestricted philanthropy has to fill critical gaps, from lifesaving equipment and breakthrough research to programs that make hospital stays a little less overwhelming for families.<\/p>\n The organization is highlighting the stories of two of its Children\u2019s Champions, whose experiences put real faces to the mission.
