JACKSONVILLE, Fla. <\/strong> \u2013 The Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office said<\/a> it has arrested a suspect connected to a fatal Northside shooting that left an 18-year-old dead and three more people injured over six months ago. <\/p>\n

Our detectives arrested a 22-year-old man this afternoon after he killed an 18-year-old over the summer.<\/p>\n

According to JSO, Samuel Chaney, 22, was arrested on Friday after a monthslong investigation revealed him as the suspect in a shooting at an apartment complex on Cleveland Road that took place in June. <\/a><\/p>\n

Chaney was already in jail for an unrelated case when he was arrested again for his role in the fatal shooting. <\/p>\n

The shooting, which took place on June 11, claimed the life of 18-year-old Marcus Thompson, and left three others, ranging in age from 16 to 21 years old, with serious injuries; however, the three other people involved did survive, police added. <\/p>\n

\u201cOur hearts go out to Thompson\u2019s loved ones, and we will continue to seek justice for him,\u201d JSO said. <\/p>\n
