href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/pearland-friendswood-manvel\/government\/2025\/12\/02\/manvel-moves-forward-with-major-commercial-development-at-manvel-crossing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jan. 5 meeting.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The policy allows for the responsible and ethical use of AI tools to improve efficiency while reinforcing that all final decisions and official actions remain under human judgment, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/manveltx.portal.civicclerk.com\/event\/533\/files\/attachment\/6772\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">city documents. <\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The details <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The approved policy doesn\u2019t prohibit the use of AI or require specific approvals and reporting requirements.<\/p>\n<p>All AI-generated content must be approved by a human prior to official use, and employees will remain fully responsible for any work generated or assisted by AI, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/manveltx.portal.civicclerk.com\/event\/533\/files\/attachment\/6774\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">city documents.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to city documents, city employees are <strong>permitted<\/strong> to use AI in such cases:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drafting and editing non-confidential documents<\/li>\n<li>Improving grammar, clarity or tone of written communications<\/li>\n<li>Generating first-draft summaries, outlines or templates<\/li>\n<li>Brainstorming ideas, designs or public-facing content<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with research using publicly available information<\/li>\n<li>Creating training materials or internal workflows<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to city documents, the following uses are <strong>prohibited<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Inputting confidential or protected information<\/li>\n<li>Making final decisions<\/li>\n<li>Presenting as official city positions or legal advice<\/li>\n<li>Avoiding retention schedules, public records or transparency requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Also of note<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/pearland-friendswood-manvel\/government\/2025\/11\/19\/upcoming-development-in-manvel-focuses-on-commercial-growth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">City employees<\/a> are not required to disclose AI use unless it significantly impacts public-facing records, policy development, analytical conclusions, budgetary analysis and grant writing.<\/p>\n<p>The policy applies to all city employees, including elected and appointed officials, boards and commissions, and contractors or vendors acting on behalf of the
