{"id":506299,"date":"2026-01-10T14:15:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-10T14:15:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/506299\/"},"modified":"2026-01-10T14:15:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-10T14:15:12","slug":"discovery-by-hawaii-observatory-offers-new-insight-into-how-galaxies-evolve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/506299\/","title":{"rendered":"Discovery by Hawaii observatory offers new insight into how galaxies evolve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">MAUNAKEA (HawaiiNewsNow) &#8211; Scientists are learning more about the universe <a href=\"https:\/\/keckobservatory.org\/vv340a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/keckobservatory.org\/vv340a\/\">from the Keck Observatory atop Maunakea<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Astronomers uncovered a wobbling black hole in the center of a nearby disk-shaped galaxy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Super heated gases were seen erupting from the black hole that stretch 20,000 light-years from the core of that galaxy. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">This was far beyond anything seen before, according to experts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The discovery provides evidence that supports theories that a supermassive black hole can dramatically reshape its host galaxy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">It also raises the possibility that something like this could happen in our own galaxy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The findings were presented at the American Astronomical Society meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 Hawaii News Now.
