Ashley Rubin\/SanDiegoGulls.com\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The San Diego Gulls\u00a0look\u00a0to take back-to-back wins against the Colorado Eagles\u00a0as they finish their weekend series tonight at Blue Arena (6:05 p.m. PST; TV:\u00a0FloHockey\u00a0on AHLTV; Radio: Gulls Audio Network).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n San Diego and Colorado battled it out in an intense game last night which resulted in a San Diego shootout win. The win marked the Gulls\u2019 first win at Colorado in nine games played since 2022. It also marked the Gulls\u2019 first shootout victory of the season.\u00a0San Diego\u00a0now holds a 6-0-2-0 record in their first game of back-to-back play this season and looks to improve their record of\u00a02-2-2-1 in second games of back-to-backs tonight.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n “That’s a big\u00a0focus for us\u00a0for sure,”\u00a0Nathan Gaucher<\/strong>\u00a0said on the win. “We want to challenge ourselves again amongst the best, and\u00a0that’s\u00a0the best team in our conference as well. So,\u00a0I think we\u00a0were right up there with them, and\u00a0it’s\u00a0a\u00a0good challenge for us, and we answered today.”\u00a0<\/p>\n The Gulls have\u00a0tied multiple games in the final minute of regulation this season. Last night,\u00a0Justin Bailey<\/strong>\u00a0netted the game-tying goal to keep the Gulls alive.\u00a0Judd Caulfield<\/strong>\u00a0was\u00a0credited\u00a0the game-winning-goal as he was the lone skater to successfully score in the shootout.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Gaucher\u00a0hit a career milestone as he recorded his first career AHL multi-goal game. The forward found the net unassisted twice, with a shorthanded goal in the first period and another goal in the third.\u00a0Nico\u00a0Myatovic<\/strong>\u00a0also found success as he scored a powerplay goal to give him a total of\u00a05-4=9 points this season.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n “We saw\u00a0what gave us success tonight,”\u00a0Caulfield said. “When we\u00a0were being\u00a0physical and just not giving them any time and space\u00a0we had a lot of success. But,\u00a0when we\u00a0kind of let\u00a0them fly in with their speed, we know they have a lot of\u00a0speed,\u00a0we\u00a0got\u00a0to stay above that.\u00a0When they had that speed, they\u00a0kind of\u00a0had\u00a0the momentum\u00a0for a bit, but we just stayed\u00a0on top of them and stayed\u00a0physical.
