Expect reroutes, skipped stops, and outright suspensions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"762\" data-end=\"782\">Let\u2019s break it down.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"841\" data-end=\"913\">These are the only lines with no major service changes this weekend:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"917\" data-end=\"948\">Subway: F, M, Q, 1, and 6<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"951\" data-end=\"993\">Shuttles: Franklin Ave &amp; Rockaway Park<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"995\" data-end=\"1094\">If your travels rely on those lines\u2014you\u2019re golden. For everyone else, here\u2019s what you need to know.<\/p>\n<p>Major Weekend Service Changes: Line by Line<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1156\" data-end=\"1202\">A &amp; C Trains: Reroutes + Local Service<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1205\" data-end=\"1345\">A Train: From Friday 11:45 pm to Monday 5 am, Queens-bound A trains will run on the F line between Jay St-MetroTech and West 4th St.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1350\" data-end=\"1428\">Weekend local stops: Ralph, Rockaway, Liberty, Van Siclen, and Shepherd Aves<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1433\" data-end=\"1487\">Downtown A trains run local at 50th and 23rd Streets<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1490\" data-end=\"1660\">C Train: Uptown trains skip Spring, 23rd, and 50th. In the Bronx, expect skipped stops (including 161st St-Yankee Stadium)<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2769\" data-end=\"2821\">5 Train: Some reroutes to the 6 line at 138th St<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2769\" data-end=\"2821\">7 Train: Queens Express Skips<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2868\" data-end=\"2970\">From Friday night to Monday at 3 am, Queens-bound 7 trains skip 82nd, 90th, 103rd, and 111th Streets<\/p>\n<p>Why All the Construction?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3013\" data-end=\"3245\">The MTA is using the weekend to perform critical upgrades\u2014replacing nearly 40-year-old track switches and installing the CBTC (Communications-Based Train Control) system to improve train frequency and cut back on mid-week meltdowns.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3247\" data-end=\"3308\">So yes, it\u2019s messy now\u2014but it\u2019s meant to prevent worse later.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3336\" data-end=\"3498\">Always check the <a class=\"decorated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/new.mta.info\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"3353\" data-end=\"3384\">MTA app<\/a> or website before you head out.
