PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 An injured hiker was hospitalized after being airlifted from Camelback Mountain on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

Just before 11 a.m., Phoenix fire crews were dispatched to the Echo Canyon trail<\/a> on reports of a woman with a lower-body injury about a mile past the trailhead. <\/p>\n

Crews did not release details about the woman\u2019s injury but said she couldn\u2019t continue her descent, so they airlifted her off the mountain and took her to a hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

While temperatures are lower than normal<\/a>, it\u2019s still important to stay safe in more ways than one while hiking in Arizona. Hikers are encouraged to follow “Take a Hike. Do it Right<\/a>” guidelines and choose a trail<\/a> that best fits their experience, the time of day and weather conditions.<\/p>\n
