AP All-Pro voting results from a national panel of 50 media members were announced on Saturday morning and two Philadelphia Eagles players made the team: Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.<\/p>\n
These second-year cornerbacks earned first-team All-Pro honors, which are well-deserved given how dominant they\u2019ve been since being selected by the Eagles in the 2024 NFL Draft (between this duo and Jalyx Hunt, what a class that\u2019s looking like).<\/p>\n
Mitchell hasn\u2019t logged an interception this season but he does have 17 passes defended, which ranks tied for sixth-most in the NFL. His passer rating allowed when targeted is just 64.3, according to Pro Football Reference. Opposing teams are best served not to try to test him.<\/p>\n
Case in point: Mitchell holds the NFL\u2019s second-longest active streak (only behind teammate Michael Carter, funny enough) with the most consecutive coverage snaps without allowing a touchdown when targeted in coverage. It dates back to Week 2 of this season against the Kansas City Chiefs.<\/p>\n

\nAfter frequently moving around the formation prior to the Eagles\u2019 Week 9 bye, Quinyon Mitchell aligned as the boundary cornerback on 74.1% of his snaps from Week 10 to the end of the regular season. During that span, he managed to recorded more passes defensed (9) than receptions allowed (6) across 29 targets faced and 233 coverage snaps when aligned to the boundary. Those figures translate to a 20.7% completion percentage allowed, a mark over three times lower than the season-long NFL average from that alignment (65.5%).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Eagles fans have already known that Mitchell is one of the very best cornerbacks in the NFL and now he\u2019s getting the recognition he deserves. In addition to making first-team All-Pro, Mitchell was named to the Pro Bowl this season.<\/p>\n
A.J. Brown called his shot back in training camp:<\/p>\n
DeJean, who only turns 23 in February, ranks just behind Mitchell in passes defended with 16. But he\u2019s also logged two interceptions and a forced fumble. DeJean\u2019s allowed a 76.5 passer rating when targeted, according to Pro Football Reference.<\/p>\n
The second-year slot cornerback is a versatile weapon who makes plays against the run in addition to being strong in coverage. DeJean is tied for 10th among NFL cornerbacks in \u201cstops,\u201d which are tackles that constitute a failure for the offense.
