Mike Barrow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Barrow said the truck caught fire, and a good Samaritan stopped to help the driver get out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">&#8220;Unfortunately, they weren&#8217;t able to reach the other two passengers, who sadly were pronounced deceased at the scene,&#8221; Barrow said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Barrow said the two victims were a man and a woman, both 18 years old.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">HPD said the freeway sign was severely damaged, and TxDOT will likely need to close the road for major repairs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">Barrow said the investigation is ongoing, including whether speed, alcohol, or another substance may have played a role.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 KTRK-TV.
