NASA\u2019s Marshall Space Flight Center removed two of its historic test stands \u2013 the Propulsion and Structural Test Facility and the Dynamic Test Facility \u2013 with carefully coordinated implosions on Saturday. The demolition of these historic structures is part of a larger project at Marshall that began in spring 2022, targeting several inactive structures and building a dynamic, interconnected campus ready for the next era of space exploration. <\/p>\n

Jared Isaacman, Trump\u2019s nominee to lead the space agency, <\/a>said the demolition would make way for the next chapter in the U.S. space mission.<\/p>\n

\u201cNASA is embarking on an exciting infrastructure modernization effort<\/a> to prepare for the future of exploration,\u201d Isaacman told Fox News Digital in a statement. \u201cThe first phase will make way for new facilities by retiring outdated ones, enabling investments in the capabilities needed to deliver on our world-changing mission of science and discovery.\u201d<\/p>\n
