{"id":507741,"date":"2026-01-11T04:46:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-11T04:46:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/507741\/"},"modified":"2026-01-11T04:46:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T04:46:11","slug":"hundreds-march-in-fort-worth-to-protest-ice-after-fatal-minneapolis-shooting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/507741\/","title":{"rendered":"Hundreds march in Fort Worth to protest ICE after fatal Minneapolis shooting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Around 300 people joined Saturday&#8217;s anti\u2011ICE protest in downtown <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/texas\/tag\/fort-worth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">Fort Worth<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Protests have been happening across the country and in the DFW area following the death of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/video-minneapolis-ice-shooting-renee-nicole-good-released-white-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">37\u2011year\u2011old Renee Nicole Good<\/a>, who was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/texas\/news\/legal-questions-arise-after-minneapolis-ice-shooting-that-killed-renee-good\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">shot and killed by an ICE officer<\/a> in Minneapolis.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Videos of the incident have sparked widespread emotion and anger.<\/p>\n<p>Calls for accountability<\/p>\n<p>Ayian Franklin was among those calling for accountability.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;ICE does not have authority to shoot anyone, period,&#8221; Franklin said.<\/p>\n<p>Parents also brought their children to the demonstration.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have our kids here because it&#8217;s important that we remind them that showing up is how change happens. I think we&#8217;re all feeling enough is enough,&#8221; said Whitney Rodrigue.<\/p>\n<p>Anger over shooting video<\/p>\n<p>Others pointed to the video of the shooting as a source of outrage.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What happened to Renee is awful. I think she was murdered in cold blood, and I think that it doesn&#8217;t take a lot to just see that video,&#8221; said Lily Ramos.<\/p>\n<p>Rodrigue said the community is balancing grief and frustration.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Feelings of anger had ICE not been there that would have never happened, so I think we live in this dichotomy of sadness and anger right now,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Demands for ICE to leave<\/p>\n<p>Demonstrators say they want ICE out of their communities. They marched through the streets, making their message loud and clear.<\/p>\n<p>Ramos said the issue should unite people across political lines.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The murder of an American citizen should bring all citizens together, left or right,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Around 300 people joined Saturday&#8217;s anti\u2011ICE protest in downtown Fort Worth.
