{"id":50783,"date":"2025-07-09T07:13:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-09T07:13:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/50783\/"},"modified":"2025-07-09T07:13:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-09T07:13:09","slug":"livvy-dunne-reveals-she-was-denied-purchasing-yankees-icon-babe-ruths-1-6m-nyc-apartment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/50783\/","title":{"rendered":"Livvy Dunne reveals she was denied purchasing Yankees icon Babe Ruth&#8217;s $1.6M NYC apartment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You\u2019re out!<\/p>\n<p>Olivia \u201cLivvy\u201d Dunne, the former LSU star gymnast and viral sensation, revealed Tuesday that she was rejected from purchasing Babe Ruth\u2019s former New York City home, saying that the building voted \u201cnot to have me live there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dunne, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/09\/13\/sports\/livvy-dunne-planning-next-steps-next-after-becoming-9-5-million-nil-legend\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">who made an estimated $9.5 million<\/a> through the \u201cname, image and likeness\u201d rules in the NCAA, claimed she was going to buy Ruth\u2019s $1.59 million Upper West Side pad all in cash. <\/p>\n<p>However, Dunne said she was denied days before she was set to get the keys to the co-op.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI get a call. The co-op board denied me,\u201d Dunne told her eight million followers in a video titled, \u201cI\u2019m just disappointed that\u2019s all.&#8217;\u201d Pretty much the people in the building voted to not have me live there, which is fine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If the co-op voted to approve the sale to the influencer, it would have been Dunne\u2019s \u201cfirst real estate purchase\u201d ever.<\/p>\n<p>Dunne said she and her boyfriend, Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes, hired an interior designer to decorate the apartment when the sale appeared as it was favoring the couple.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt got to the point where the realtor was so confident, Paul and I went, I got an interior designer because I didn\u2019t want to bring my college furniture to Babe Ruth\u2019s apartment, that would be like, criminal,\u201d Dunne said.<\/p>\n<p>Livvy Dunne was rejected from purchasing Babe Ruth\u2019s former New York City apartment. @livvy \/ TikTok<\/p>\n<p>The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model added that she had \u201cno clue\u201d why residents rejected her from living in the building, which was constructed in 1915.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHonestly, it wasn\u2019t financial. It could have been, for all I know, they could have been Alabama fans and I went to LSU,\u201d Dunne quipped.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe they didn\u2019t want a public figure living there, but I was literally supposed to get the keys and that week they denied me,\u201d Dunne added.<\/p>\n<p>The former LSU gymnast claimed she has \u201cno idea\u201d why residents in the building rejected her. @livvy \/ TikTok<\/p>\n<p>The Yankee slugger\u2019s seventh-floor, three-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom prewar residence is located at 345 W. 88th St and hit the market in March, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/03\/31\/real-estate\/babe-ruths-longtime-nyc-home-can-be-yours-for-1-59m\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Post reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/03\/31\/real-estate\/babe-ruths-longtime-nyc-home-can-be-yours-for-1-59m\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cThe Sultan of Swat\u201d lived on the property<\/a> with his late second wife, Claire Merritt Ruth, and their late adopted daughter Julia Ruth Stevens, from 1920 to 1940.<\/p>\n<p>The space featured high ceilings, oak floors, numerous storage areas, a modern open kitchen with a breakfast bar, and multiple closets.<\/p>\n<p>Livvy Dunne is dating Pittsburgh Pirates\u2019 pitcher Paul Skenes.
